This special Tibet tour itinerary is what you call a ‘short and sweet’ experience in Tibet; 6 Days Cultural Excursion takes you through all the sites that make Lhasa a forbidden city. Your trip to Tibet won’t just stop at awe-inspiring sceneries; it takes you to close up to Tibet’s daily Tibetan lives, traditions, and cultures.
This trip starts in holy Lhasa city through the prominent historical and spiritual monuments like the grand Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and the over-crowded Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery, a heavenly walk through Tibetan Buddhism. If you care, the nightlife in Lhasa is quite lively and lit-up.
Moving on from the first half of your trip, you are onto Shigatse through the magnificent Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse. The sceneries the journey has to offer is the very taste of beauty and calm, and it is mind purifying. A stop and a small visit to a remote Tibetan local home on the way isn’t always out of boundaries.
Shigatse used to be known for (besides Tashi Lhunpo Monastery) its rich farm products at the county fairs all around in Tibet. The bustling local Tibetan market at the foot of Dzong is worth a cool afternoon walk around.
Leave Shigatse at the earliest as you can the next day if your flight the day after is in the morning or early afternoon so that you can spare yourself a little time to buy sovereigns and stuff.
