Half Day Drak Yerpa Hermitage Excursion

Drak Yerpa is only 34 km northeast of Lhasa. This half-day excursion begins with a beautiful drive along the Lhasa River, passing through several lovely villages on the way. Following the Yerpa Chu Stream (a tributary of Lhasa River) we will come to the historic complex of caves and temples on the ridge of Yerpa, which make up the hermitage. From there we will hike up the winding stairway and visit the old caves and devoted hermits. Visitors may get chance to interact with the hermits and learn more about their tradition, and will enjoy a great view of the entire valley from the temples.
