Drak Yangzong-Explore Tibet.

drak yangzong

It’s a thrill and exciting to drive through this bumpy road and heading to explore Guru Rinpoche’s meditation cave which is a truly mesmerizing and mysterious and exciting place to visit for those are very spiritual oriented. Driving to Drak Yangzong itself is a great deal and an adventure. The beauty of nature on the way to Drak Yangzong is marvelous and it make me fall in love with nature deeper. Driving is not a troublesome but claiming the caves is. We boost up ourselves from the root of the caves with some energy drinks and eatables and then finally heap up all the strengths and moved on. It took a great deal of energy from us to reach the destination and finally we reached the top and our heart filled with joy of victory and satisfaction though it’s a freaking tiresome trip. We shout out loud as we reached the top with feeling of satisfaction. That was a great feeling and felt blessed. From the Chusi Nunnery it is a tough (2 1/2hrs) climb up to the Drak Yangzong caves. With grace of God there is a long and bumpy stares to reach the top. It’s a stare which directly connecting you to the heaven (beauty of the nature) and the view from the top of the mountain is incredibly beautiful. For an adventurous off the beaten track trip, pack your sleeping bag, a head touch, enough water and budget a couple of days to explore this mysterious and thrill cave of Padmasambhava at the Drak valley. Several scared sites peeper the valley and all are visited by pilgrims routed to the caves. Best way to explore this caves is accompanied by a band of Tibetan pilgrims. Access to the upper caves is via a 10m ladder secured with trips of Yaks hide. Note that the caves are very narrow and slippery in places and are absolutely no place for those with claustrophobia, vertigo or a tendency to eat too many doughnuts. The spiritual and physical heart of the complex is a tiny Guru Rinpoche cave. And there are many magical and unbelievable things or treasure you can observe with your own eyes though the journey is bit dangerous and risky at the caves. It’s a great fun, terrifying and a thrill adventure to explore the caves. The large cave below the main entrance has a chapel with an interesting side mural of Mindroling Monastery and a couple of resident nuns, who will act as your guide through the cave.
