Hey I would be interested in doing the 8 days Tibet Overland Tour to Nepal on May 17th. As I am by myself is it possible to book a single room occupancy and if yes how much is the supplement?
If I am entering Lhasa via plane from Kathmandu is it time enough for the permit if I arrive in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon 12th of May?
Looking forward to your answers.
admin12-272017): Hi Mona
Thanks for your inquiry!

Tibet Group Visa:
Please note: if you plan to come to Tibet from Nepal you don't need to apply for Chinese visa all you need to do is to send us your passport scan or clear photo and we will apply for the Tibet travel permit here at the same time we will obtain the Tibet group visa invitation letter here and send it to our Nepalese agent then the agent will meet you at your arrival in Kathmandu and collect your passport to apply for the Group Visa which is compulsory for travelers entering Tibet from Nepal you will need to pay for the group visa fee and the agent’s service fee to the agent seperately this fee is not included in our tour cost. for the fee you can refer to this link http://www.exploretibet.com/visa-permits/ just for reference. Your schedule in Kathmandu should be like below:

Day 2: group visa apply (must be embassy working days)
Day 3 :group visa collection(must be embassy working days)
Day 4: obtain visa by 11:00 (must be embassy working days)

Hi
my friend and me would like to partecipate to the 8 days of Tibet next year in May but I would like that to provide us the visa to come into Tibet through Nepal .. Is it possible for you?
admin11-212017): Dear Laura Tait

Thanks for your inquiry

Entry Tibet from Nepal;
As you plan to come to Tibet from Nepal you don't need to apply for Chinese visa all you need to do is to send us your passport scan or clear photo and we will apply for the Tibet travel permit here at the same time we will obtain the Tibet group visa invitation letter here and send it to our Nepalese agent so then our Nepalese agent will meet you at your arrival in Kathmandu and collect your passport to apply for the Group Visa which is compulsory for travelers entering Tibet from Nepal. The group visa application takes at least 2 full working days in Kathmandu therefore please make sure you have enough time for that. (Note: the group visa is only applicable from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu).

Once you booked your trip with us then we will just need your and your friend’s passport copies to apply for the Tibet Group Visa’s Invitation letter this will be applied with the Tibet Travel Permits.

Hi there

I have a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chongqing departing 28th December arriving 26th December at 12:45am. I then have a connecting flight on 26th December at 8am to Lhasa. I wish to stay in Lhasa until 31st. Will it be possible for me to collect the visa early on the 26th December or can I collect it at the airport while in transit?
Thanks
Peader
admin11-212017): Dear PEADER ORDERLEY

Thanks for your inquiry

Yes we can mail permit to our local agent in Chonging and the agent will go to the airport waiting for your landing and deliver the pemit to you. This will cost additional CNY400.

According to your schedule I suggest you go for our private 6 days cultural experience tour starting from capital city Lhasa to 2nd largest city Shigatse and back en route you will see one of the 3 holy lakes of Tibet Yamdrok Lake and also several famous Monasteries and Temples to know better about Tibet history culture and the beautiful scenery.

Warmly

My husband and I are planning to fly to Beijing then take the train to Lasha spend 4 days in Tibet then fly to Nepal then to New Delhi.
1- Is it possible to fly from Tibet to Nepal?
2- Can we get a guide in Tibet to take us to the places that we want to go?
3- do travel permits have to be obtained through a travel agency or can we obtained them directly
Thank you so much for any answer that you can provide.
admin11-062017): Dear NG
all of the international travelers should be a part of package tour arranged by travel agency and only agency can apply for the permit for you.
Ticket information:
You can either book the train ticket yourself of let us to help with it.

Tour Information:
Of course yes our guide and driver will send you off to the airport to help you catch the flight from Tibet to Nepal. And take you to the places which you want to go.
Here I recommend you to do the 4 days tour only you two with influent English speaking guide and experienced local driver. But can you please let me know your travel date? So that I can quota to you accordingly.
We also have the 4 days group tour itinerary same with private tour you can join as well.

I want to explore Tibet and visit the beautiful temples in Tibet I want to relax my mind there so how could I get the visa for tibet
admin10-312017): Dear Mohammed faraz

Thanks for your inquiry this is Sherry from Explore Tibet I am very happy to be your personal trip advisor and I hope me and my team can offer you a memorable tour in Tibet.
Explore Tibet is one of the few Tibetan owned agencies based in Lhasa we practice Responsible travel by using local services and employ locals as much as possible. We use Tibetan drivers and tour guides for their strong Tibetan Cultural and religious background to make your travel unique and authentic.

Since after 2007 the Tibet Tourism Bureau announced that all the foreigner should contract with a Lhasa based local agency where every group or individual tourist is compulsory to lead by a licensed guide and driver for whole trip whether a traveler is doing cycling trekking or driving tours in Tibet. So any trip in Tibet is selling in packages or organized tours freelancers or independent travelers are not allowed in whole Tibet.

So you will need to book a tour first. Could you please tell me when you will visit Tibet how many days you want to spend on this tour so I will help make a tour plan and give you the price.
If you are traveling solo I suggest you check on our group tours: https://www.exploretibet.com/tibet-group-tours/

I want to do a self drive to ebc from ktm in an Indian registered vehicle of my own. Tell me how is this possible?
admin10-242017): Dear Sharad Agarwal
As far as I know it’s impossible because foreign travelers have to book a pre-arranged package tour and go with tour agency on tourist car with lisenced guide to travel to Tibet at least going with tour agency cannot drive by themselves. But not sure if can apply for other organization or government. Good luck!
