Tsethang is the fourth largest city in Tibet and is located in the Yarlung valley,183 Km southeast of Lhasa. Tsedang has been the capital of the Yarlung region since antiquity and was the seat of the ancient emperors of Tibet and, as such, a place of great importance. In the 19th century, it is said to have comprised some 1,000 houses, a bazaar, a gompa and a fort. Tsedang is one of the most famous tourist spot in Tibet due to its beautiful and stunning landscapes and nature. There are numbers of sites which tourist should never missed and its worth visiting. Such as Samye Monastery: the very first Buddhist monastery in Tibet. Yumbu lhakhang: The very very first palace of Tibet,built by the 1st King of the Tibet, Lhamo lha tso: One of the most stunning and marvelous lake of Tibet and considered as sacred by the local believers, Chim puk hermitage is built in 10th century and is one of the important monastery in Tibet to cherish the histories of Buddhism in Tibet.There are still countless sites in Tsedang yet the above sites are truly historical.
