Sino-Norway Relation is Normalized – It May Reopen Tibet Permit for Norwegian in 2017

According to Tencent QQ News, in 2010, the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the Peace Prize to the Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo which interfered China’s internal affairs, since then Sino-Norway relation get worsen.

It has been just over five years since Tibet travel permit is banned for Norwegians.

Based on the Xinhua News, on 19th Dec, both China and Norway government issue a statement that from that day Sino-Norway relation was normalized.

On that day, Chinese premier Li Keqiang met the Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende in Beijing. Li said the two countries’ foreign ministers had candid and in-depth talks and reached an agreement on the normalization of bilateral ties.

China hopes to work together with Norway to open a new chapter in bilateral ties, and push forward a sustained, healthy and stable growth of relations, Li said.

Many people hoping that this normalization of two countries may bring some changes to the Tibet travel permit for Norwegians that banned over the past five years.
