Location: Tibet Museum is located in the southeast corner of Norbulingka Summer Palace.

Opening Hours: 9:00~18:00




Covering an area of 23,508 square meters and with an exhibition area of 10,451 square meters, the Tibet Museum is located in the southeast corner of Norbulingka Summer Palace. Its primary function is to preserve the culture of the Tibetan people. The museum has some modern facilities.

  The modern museum building fuses traditional Tibetan architecture with the modern. It is a grey brick building with dark brown and white roof furnishings with a golden orange gilded roof. The museum is structured into three main sections: a main exhibition hall, a folk cultural garden and an administrative quarter.


        
The museum not only comprises antiques, but also Tibetan artworks. It has a collection of more than 520,000 artifacts, including pottery, jade, and Buddha statues, these priceless treasures which represent important heritage for the Tibetan people. It has been known as the major cultural attraction for visitors every year.
